Man faces 150+ charges in Hampstead pharmacy robberies

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Newport man is facing more than 150 charges after allegedly robbing a pharmacy in Hampstead three times in 2017.

The Pender County Sheriff’s Office Detective and Vice/Narcotics Division charged Melton Duffy Guthrie Tuesday for stealing from Village Pharmacy at the Beacon in Hampstead multiples times last year.

CHARGES:
3 counts of breaking and entering
3 counts of larceny after breaking and entering
3 counts of possession of stolen goods
3 counts of injury to personal property
29 counts of Trafficking Opium or Heroin
62 counts of Possession With Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Schedule II controlled substances
40 counts of felony possession of Schedule II controlled substances
1 count of Trafficking Amphetamines
2 counts of Possession With Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Schedule Schedule III controlled substances
2 counts of Possession With Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Schedule IV controlled substances
21 counts of simple possession Schedule II controlled substances
2 counts of simple possession Schedule III controlled substances
2 counts of simple possession of Schedule IV controlled substances.

Guthrie is the Pender County Jail under a $ 900,000 secure bond.
