New Wrightsville Beach police chief sworn in

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Wrightsville Beach has sworn in the town’s new Police Chief David Squires.

Monday was his first day on the job.

Squires retired from the Virginia Beach Police Department where he served for 27 years.

He had been a captain in the department since 2012.

Former Wilmington Police Chief Ralph Evangelous had been serving as interim chief.
