Wilmington Fire Dept. holding 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Tomorrow marks 17 years since the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Wilmington Fire Department is marking the day with an annual remembrance ceremony.
At 8:30 a.m., you can stop by the Empie Park Fire Station (Station #2) at 2403 Park Ave. in Wilmington to be part of the ceremony. It’s scheduled to last until 9:30 a.m.
Natosha Vincent with Wilmington Fire Dept. said the department has held the ceremony since putting up the 9/11 memorial at the station.
Attendees are asked to park across from the fire station in the large parking lot by O2 Fitness. The event is free and open to everyone.
