Caswell Beach issues mandatory evacuation for visitors

CASWELL BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Caswell Beach has declared a State of Emergency and has issued a mandatory evacuation for all non-residents and visitors.

Mayor Deborah Ahlers says this is effective immediately.

A voluntary evacuation is recommended for residents.

Public Beach Access Parking Lot and Lighthouse Parking Lot will close at 11 a.m. and will remain closed until further notice.

Under the declaration, price gouging is expressly forbidden. Violators will be subject to criminal prosecution.
