WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says a man with multiple alleged offenses is being held without bond.

On Tuesday, July 22, Joseph Daniel Wells was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Division.

The Sheriff’s Office says Wells had an outstanding warrant for Domestic Violence, and he was arrested without incident.

Following his arrest, investigators were able to formally charge Wells with two additional felony offenses stemming from a prior drug investigation conducted by the same division.

These charges include:

· Felony Maintain a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substances

· Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance (Oxycodone)

The warrant claims Wells did knowingly and intentionally maintain a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox for the keeping and selling of Oxycodone, a Schedule II Controlled Substance, in violation of the North Carolina Controlled Substances Act.

The Sheriff’s Office says Wells was already out on bond from a previous Vice/Narcotics arrest at the time of this incident.

Due to this status, he received no bond and remains in custody awaiting his next court appearance.
