Strong second half keeps UNCW womens hoops undefeated at home
WILMINGTON,NC (WWAY)–UNCW womens basketball shot 57 percent from the field on Sunday afternoon, as their improved their home record to 10-0 beating Northeastern, 83-70.
GiGi Smith scored a game-high 20 points going 3-5 from behind the three-point line. Redshirt senior Shrita Parker continues to shine in her first season in the Seahawk colors. Sunday afternoon after a slow start she chipped in 19 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
Shannon Todd led Northeastern with a team-high 18 points of her own. UNCW held the Huskies to 38.6 percent shooting on the afternoon.
The Seahawks will look to keep their home winning streak alive next weekend as they continue the home stand. They will play Elon on Friday night at 7:00 P.M. , that game will be followed up by William & Mary on Sunday at 2 o’clock.
