Early innings lead Chants to win over UNCW on the diamond

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)–Coastal Carolina jumped out to the early 5-0 lead on UNCW baseball on Tuesday night in the first inning. The Seahawks could never quite get back in the game as they fell 10-5 to the No. 19 Chanticleers.

It was a career day at the dish for UNCW sophomore Doug Angeli. He hit his first career home run going 4-5 at the plate with 2 RBI’s.

Justin Walke took the loss for the Seahawks on the mound. The Fayetteville, NC native went just 0.2 of an inning allowing three earned runs on two hits.

UNCW will be back in action on Friday at Brooks Field in game two of the Hughes Bros. Challenge. The Seahawks will take on Indiana State on Friday with a 4:00 P.M. first pitch.
