Drone pressure washing takes to the skies in downtown Wilmington
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — This is something you don’t see every day, a drone pressure washing a high-rise building. And it happened in downtown Wilmington this weekend.
Four Seasons Pressure Washing used drone washing to clean the outside of the Embassy Suites downtown. The licensed pilot controlled the drone from the roof. The drone stays about 15 to 20 feet away from the building.
Josh Walston is the owner of Four Seasons Pressure Washing.
He says drone washing a high-rise building is safer and faster than other methods and also an eye catcher.
“Drone cleaning is relatively somewhat newer in the cleaning industry. A lot of people don’t really know about it so when they see it they’re like oh my gosh technology these days has really come a long way. So, everybody that walks past stops in their foot tracks,” Walston said.
Walston added that a building of this size usually takes about 2 days to finish. The drone gets about 20 minutes of flight time before the batteries need to be swapped out.
