Man killed in motorcycle collision along Highway 74

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A man from Spring Lake, north of Fayetteville, is dead following a vehicle collision on US Highway 74 Saturday evening.

A Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading east on 74 when it crashed into the rear of a Honda near Delco School Road.

The motorcycle rider, 50-year-old Warren Dorcus Washington Jr, was ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda was not injured.

State Highway Patrol is investigating and said the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed leading up to the collision.
