ROCKY POINT, NC (WWAY) — Pender County Schools has a new Spark NC Lab for its students at Heidi Trask High School.

Pender county schools has unveiled a new Spark NC Lab at Heide Trask High School.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was earlier Wednesday, revealing all new computers, lab equipment, and computer science programs for students to utilize. The lab will be open to all Pender County students, not just Heide Trask, and has been placed in hopes of a brighter future for today’s education.

Pender County Superintendent Brad Breedlove is excited to utilize this new lab in order to catapult a new generational way of learning.

“This is fantastic, this plays right into our strategic plan of opening up pathways for students. Students can work at their own pace on interests that they have, and so, it’s a little bit different when we talk about education, ’cause education is very structured, this is not structured. It allows students just to explore their interests. “

The spark lab is officially open and ready to be utilized by students for this school year
