Ceremony at CFCC to honor victims and heroes of 9/11

CASTLE HAYNE, NC — Cape Fear Community College will host a Patriot Day Remembrance Ceremony on Thursday, September 11, to honor the victims, survivors, and first responders of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. at CFCC’s North Campus Safety Training Center, located at 4500 Blue Clay Road in Castle Hayne.

The ceremony will include remarks from Chris Nelson, CFCC’s director of fire and rescue programs; Brandon Guthrie, senior vice president of academic affairs; and Mark Haraway, assistant chief with Pender EMS & Fire. The program will also feature the striking of the four fives and the laying of a memorial wreath.

The event is free and open to the public.
