Southport police and fire units respond to brush fire

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — Southport Police and Fire units responded to a brush fire and live power line down on Monday off E Leonard Street.

The Southport Fire Department says that Duke Progress responded regarding the downed line. Once secure, SFD extinguished the brush fire, which burned across a field near Powerhouse Road.
