Pender County Board of Elections announces precinct changes ahead of 2026 primary

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — The Pender County Board of Elections has announced several precinct location changes that will take effect beginning with the 2026 Primary Election.
The board of elections in Pender County wants voters to carefully review their new precinct locations, as some Election Day voting sites have been permanently moved to facilities that provide better accessibility, parking, and amenities.
New precinct locations include:
- Voters previously assigned to Canetuck Community Building, Moore’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church, or Atkinson School Gym will now vote at Malpass Corner Elementary School, 4992 Malpass Corner Road, Burgaw. (Atkinson School Gym will remain open only for municipal elections.)
- Voters previously assigned to Long Creek Volunteer Fire Department or Cape Fear Elementary School will now vote at Heide Trask Auxiliary Gym, 14328 NC Hwy 210, Rocky Point.
- Voters previously assigned to the Pender County Cooperative Extension Auditorium will now vote at Burgaw Middle School Gym, 500 S. Wright Street, Burgaw. (The Cooperative Extension Auditorium will remain open only for municipal elections.)
- Voters previously assigned to the Union Rescue Squad Building or Watha Town Hall/Community Center will now vote at Penderlea Gym, 231 W H Robbins Road, Willard. (Watha Town Hall/Community Center will remain open only for municipal elections.)
- Voters previously assigned to Wesleyan Chapel Fellowship Hall will now vote at Scotts Hill Baptist Church, 185 Scotts Hill Loop Road, Wilmington.
Voters impacted by these changes will also receive official notification by mail.
