Southeastern Community College closed due to utility outage UPDATE

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Due to an unexpected utility outage, all campus operations at Southeastern Community College are closed effective immediately, including evening operations.
The college says please do not report to campus until further notice.
Classes and employees should transition to remote learning and work where possible.
Instructors will communicate directly with students regarding coursework.
The college says they are actively working to resolve the issue and will provide updates as soon as more information is available.
UPDATE (8:35 p.m.): SCC campus will reopen on Wednesday, September 17. Utility services have been restored. All classes and campus operations will resume as usual.
