Topsail sweeps game and season series against Ashley

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — Topsail remains second in the Carolina Coast volleyball standings following a 3-0 win at Ashley Thursday.

The set scores were 25-22, 25-23, 25-23.

Ashley came in having won six of their last seven following a loss to Topsail to begin conference play.

The Pirates were led by freshman Ava O’Reilly’s 15 kills. Senior Valentina Bugnatto added another five.

“Starting off strong is probably what we’ve been working on the most as a team,” Bugnatto said. “Starting off strong, I think that’s just what built our momentum up through every single set.”
