Man accused of forcing victim to dig grave at gunpoint after hitting dog in road

MINEOLA, TX (KLTV) — A Mineola man has been accused of holding a person at gunpoint for hitting his dog.
Documents say he forced the victim to dig a grave, withdraw money from an ATM to compensate him and reveal a home address.
According to an arrest document obtained by KLTV through an open records request, the victim went to the police station for a voluntary interview.
The man said he was driving home on Sept. 8 when he hit an animal, according to the affidavit. He pulled over to fix his bumper, but a silver Ford pickup stopped behind him. The document says Alberto Joshua Hernandez, 22, got out and pointed what appeared to be a MAC-10 submachine pistol at the victim, threatening to shoot him. The victim said he pleaded for his life, according to the affidavit.
Hernandez allegedly forced the man at gunpoint to pick up the body of the dog from a nearby ditch and carry it to his yard. The affidavit says he took the man’s keys and phone, then kept the gun pointed while he demanded the man take a shovel and dig a hole to bury the dog.
