Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office investigating deadly shooting

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that happened Friday afternoon in Longwood.

Deputies responded to a call on Etheridge Road around 1:30pm in reference to a reported shooting. When they arrived, they found a male in the yard of a residence with an apparent gunshot wound. The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as 20 year old Jeremhiah Aldrey Gore.

Another male victim was found and sustained a gunshot wound, he was transported to a medical facility for treatment. There’s no word on his current condition.

According to the sheriff’s office, the preliminary investigation indicates the shots were fired from a vehicle driving by.

They add that the incident appears to be isolated and there is no known threat to the public.
