Veterans connect with career opportunities at “Job-toberfest” hiring event in Wilmington
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY-TV) — Veterans looking for employment were invited to a hiring event Tuesday with New Hanover County NC Works. The “Job-toberfest” was held at the Wilmington National Guard Armory.
The event offered opportunities for veterans to connect with job opportunities in career paths like project management, human resources, transportation, government, and many more. Christopher Lindsay, a veteran career advisor for the North Carolina Department of Commerce said events like these are important to bridge the gap for veterans in need of employment.
“This is our way of giving back to veterans in the community where veterans served,” Lindsay said. “I myself am a veteran and at one point in time I was on the other side of the table of employment and so this is my way of giving back.”
Tuesday’s event was also open to transitioning service members and civilians. Click here to find employment opportunities offered at the workshop.
