Wilmington man sentenced to at least five years in prison

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) –A Brunswick County judge sentenced a Wilmington man to at least five years in prison for first-degree burglary, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault inflicting serious injury and obstruction of justice. 

25-year-old Dimetrius Cokley-Parker followed his ex-girlfriend to the Leland home of one of her friends.  

In the middle of the night, he broke into a second story window, assaulted a man in the home with a gun, attempted to rob him and assaulted his ex-girlfriend.  

Cokley-Parker later threatened a witness trying to get them to recant their story.
