Surf City firefighters respond to early-morning house fire
SURF CITY, NC (WWAY) — Fire crews were called to a home in the 100 block of Key Largo Drive in Hampstead early Wednesday morning after reports of an active structure fire, according to the Surf City Fire Department.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire coming from the rear of the home and the roof. Crews were able to bring the flames under control and have since shifted from suppression to cleanup and investigation efforts.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
Multiple agencies responded to assist, including Pender EMS and Fire, the Holly Ridge Fire Department, the Surf City Police Department and additional supporting units.
