Southport Police charge man with Assault on a Female

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — The Southport Police Department has arrested a man on assault charges.

David Allen Truglio, 67, of Southport, was arrested on November 26, 2025, and taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center. He is being held under a $10,000 bond.

Officers with the Southport Police Department charged Truglio with two counts each of Sexual Battery and Assault on a Female.

The charges stem from incidents that occurred in the 300 block of North Howe Street in Southport.

Victims’ names will not be released at this time. This remains an active and ongoing investigation. There may be additional charges, pending the outcome of the investigation.
