NCDEQ launches Hurricane Helene recovery grants program

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has launched the Western NC Recovery Grants Program to help communities affected by Hurricane Helene rebuild.
The program provides free grant-writing and technical assistance to towns, counties, government councils, and eligible non-profits across the 39 disaster declared counties in the western part of the state.
DEQ staff will help communities identify appropriate funding opportunities, work one-on-one with local governments to prepare applications, and provide targeted technical assistance.
Those seeking assistance can complete an online form and there is no formal deadline to apply for assistance.
If you have a specific grant established deadline you are asked to share that in the application form.
