NORTH CAROLINA, (WWAY) — The District Attorney’s office says a man will spend more than 18 years in prison, following a chase across three counties that ended in a large drug bust.

43-year-old Deron Blanks was sentenced today. He is scheduled to serve between 18 and 24 years. He was also given a 500 hundred thousand dollar fine.

Blanks failed to stop at a checking station in Columbus County, and led officers on a multi-county chase before wrecking his car.

The District Attorney’s office says Blanks had 138 grams of Heroin in his possession.
