CFPUA reminds residents of upcoming boil water advisory for portions of Wrightsville Beach

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Public Utility Authority has scheduled a precautionary boil water advisory for approximately 100 customers as crews work to replace broken valves on the water distribution system.
The boil water advisory will start at 9 a.m. on Thursday for a portion of South Lumina Avenue and Waynick Boulevard in Wrightsville Beach.
The following addresses will be impacted:
- 101 S. Lumina Ave.
- 108 to 225 S. Lumina Ave.
- 202 to 231 Waynick Blvd.
When under a boil water advisory, customers are asked to boil their water for one minute, then allow it to cool or alternatively use bottled water.
CFPUA reminds people that they do not need to boil water prior to showering or bathing.
Before a boil water advisory is lifted, CFPUA will test the water to ensure it is safe for drinking.
