Holiday movie ‘MERV’ filmed in the Cape Fear released on Prime Video

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The new holiday movie MERV, filmed in Wilmington, released on Amazon Prime Wednesday.

Zooey Deschanel and Charlie Cox star in the film that has key scenes at Starlite Hotel along the Carolina Beach shoreline.

MERV is a romantic comedy featuring a couple who breaks up and their dog falls into a funk. The couple reunites and their dog Merv gets his groove back which also helps sparks fly between the two.

Scenes from the film were also filmed on Princess Street in Wilmington which brought an inflatable snowman and fake snow.
