Man charged with murder, firing into Chadbourn home

CHADBOURN, NC (WWAY) — A 28-year-old Columbus County man is facing multiple felony charges, including first-degree murder, after a deadly shooting at a Chadbourn home.

Court documents show William Cody Inman, of Whiteville, has been charged with first-degree murder and two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied property following a shooting on Saturday.

According to charging documents, Inman is accused of shooting into a residence in the 100 block of Dudney Lane in Chadbourn. The home was occupied by a woman and an unnamed juvenile at the time.

Warrants and an incident report shows a 28-year-old man was killed.

Inman is currently being held without bond.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says more details will be released later today.
