Topsail picks up road win over West Brunswick 58-36

SHALLOTTE, N.C. (WWAY) — In the lone Carolina Coast girls basketball matchup on Tuesday, Topsail came out on top at West Brunswick 58-36.

The Pirates opened the 2nd half with a 10-point lead before cracking things open. Many of their field goals came from cross-court passes from their own end to just underneath the hoop.

“Started playing better defense this game,” sophomore Ava Kita said. “We all worked as a team to play a good defense and stop the ball and get easy layups altogether. We kicked up the energy and trapped better on our zone, on our triangle.”
