WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A lane in the 2900 block of Oleander Drive is closed for an emergency water repair.

On Thursday, crews closed the inner westbound lane of Oleander Drive and shifted traffic into a single outer westbound lane between Hawthorne Road and Live Oak Parkway.

The closure is expected to remain in place for 8 hours.

As a result, CFPUA issued a precautionary boil water advisory for part of Oleander Drive and the surrounding area.

About 200 customers are impacted from 2805 to 3208 Oleander Drive, 606 to 2788 Live Oak Parkway, 2616 to 2705 Mayfair Drive, and 1553 to 1569 Hawthorne Road.

Under a boil water advisory, people are asked to boil their water for one minute, then allow it to cool prior to drinking, brushing teeth, making ice, food preparation, fruit and vegetable washing, pet consumption, and the preparation of baby formula.
