NAACP New Hanover County to host ‘Souls to the Polls’ on Sunday

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The NAACP New Hanover County Branch is inviting the community to take part in a ‘Souls to the Polls’ civic engagement event later this month.
According to the branch, the event will be held Sunday, Feb. 22, beginning at 1 p.m. at St. Stephen AME Church, located at 501 Red Cross St. in Wilmington.
Organizers said participants will gather at the church before marching together to vote at the Cape Fear Community College McLeod Building, with an entrance off Water Street at 411 N. Front St.
After voting, attendees are invited to continue fellowship with food and community connection at Eagles Dare.
The NAACP New Hanover County Branch said the event is part of its ongoing efforts to increase voter education, protect voting rights and empower residents throughout the Cape Fear region.
