Bladen County deputies increase patrols after threatening call to community college

DUBLIN, NC (WWAY) — The Bladen County 911 Call Center received a call Wednesday reporting communicating threats toward Bladen Community College, according to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said the caller identified himself as a family member of a former employee and described the caller as disgruntled. The caller told dispatchers he was calling from Vermont.

The report was immediately investigated, and authorities determined the call was placed from Vermont, officials said.

Vermont police were contacted, and the individual’s case worker is currently involved, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials said there is no additional threat at this time. However, due to the nature of the call, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office will have additional patrols in the area and on the Bladen Community College campus.
