UNCW blows out North Carolina A&T 88-65

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — It was a big night for a lot of reasons for UNCW men’s basketball, and it’s all thanks to their 88-65 home win over North Carolina A&T on Thursday.
The win marks the largest victory for the Seahawks in a conference game this season at 23 points while the previous high was 12. Head Coach Takayo Siddle’s squad finally got to coast to the end while still getting to play a full 40 minutes.
“We’re never going to ease,” Siddle said. “Not around here. It’s all about getting better, trying to dominate possessions. I’m going to coach until that last tick on the clock because my focus is to get every ounce of good out of this team.”
UNCW now clinches a share of first place in the CAA standings. To take it outright, they need to win one of their two remaining regular season contests. They are back at home on Sunday against rival Charleston, the only other team still mathematically alive for the league’s best record.
