WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Work on the restoration of Kenan Fountain at Market Street and Fifth Avenue resumed Monday as crews returned to continue improvements to the historic downtown landmark, the City of Wilmington said.

City officials said traffic control barriers will be reinstalled around the fountain to allow the work to continue safely.

The surrounding area will remain accessible, but drivers and pedestrians should expect minor adjustments near the intersection during construction, according to the city.

The restoration project is expected to be completed by the end of April.
