Brunswick County tax office hosting free taxpayer outreach events this spring

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Tax Office will host a series of free outreach events this spring to help residents with tax-related questions and paperwork.

Officials say tax office staff will be available at six locations across the county to assist residents with filing forms and answering questions about tax exemption programs, appeal periods, personal and business property listings and delinquent collections.

Residents can also learn more about tax exemptions available for elderly residents, people with disabilities and disabled veterans.

The outreach events are scheduled at libraries and county facilities throughout Brunswick County.

  • Tuesday, March 24 | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    Margaret & James Harper Jr. Library, 109 W. Moore St., Southport

  • Tuesday, March 31 | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    Rourk Library, 5068 Main St., Shallotte

  • Tuesday, April 21 | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    Leland Library, 487 Village Rd., Leland

  • Friday, April 24 | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    David R. Sandifer Administration Building, 30 Government Center Drive NE, Bolivia

  • Wednesday, April 29 | 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
    Southwest Brunswick Branch Library, 9400 Ocean Highway W., Carolina Shores

  • Friday, May 1 | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    G.V. Barbee Sr. Library, 8200 E. Oak Island Drive, Oak Island

County officials noted that events scheduled after the appeal period ends will still include appraisal staff available to answer property appraisal questions.
