Onslow County surveys storm damage after severe weather

ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Onslow County Emergency Services is surveying damage across the county after severe weather moved through Thursday.

County officials said they are working with the National Weather Service to determine the exact cause of the damage, including whether it was caused by a microburst, straight-line wind gusts or a tornado.

Among the notable buildings damaged in the storm were the American Legion building in Jacksonville and Providence Bank in Richlands.

Officials have not yet released additional details about the extent of the damage
