Wilmington woman charged after resisting arrest
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington woman is facing several charges after her arrest on Sunday.
Savannah Benton, a 28-year-old, was arrested by the Wilmington Police Department on Sunday.
According to court documents, Benton damaged the hood of a car, and then, after an officer was sent out to investigate a separate incident involving the theft of a bike, Benton resisted arrest and in the process… kicked the officer in the stomach.
She faces 3 misdemeanors, was given a bond of $7,500 and her next court date is set for May 11th.
