UNCW hosts STEM event to help encourage kids to learn more about science
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– At UNCW, the next generation of scientists were hiding in plain sight at UNCW’s Stem Expo.
From coral reefs, robotics, and even fire, all sorts of science were on display at the annual family-friendly event at UNCW.
Dozens of families brought their children to learn about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with interactive hands-on activities.
Director for UNCW’s Marine Quest Erin Moran says the event helps children have a deeper understanding of science and better appreciate it.
“Kids enjoy learning how they are science, they are part of science every day,” said Moran. Science really matters, which is the theme of this year’s NC Science Festival.”
Moran also said to be on the lookout for future summer camps with Marine Quest.
