Chadbourn council votes to hire new town attorney

CHADBOURN, NC (WWAY) — The Chadbourn Town Council voted Tuesday night to hire a new attorney to represent the town after more than two months without legal counsel.

Interim Town Manager John Bauer confirmed Sharon Lin of Tharrington Smith LLP will take over the role.

Chadbourn has been without legal counsel since former Town Attorney Mike Stephens resigned during an emergency meeting in February.

Council members said the town will continue searching for a more local attorney moving forward.
