WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Fans of The Carpenters will have a chance to relive the music of the iconic sibling duo this fall when The Carpenters Songbook: A Live Celebration comes to the Wilson Center.

The tribute show is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026,  at the Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College. The production celebrates the music and legacy of Karen and Richard Carpenter, whose soft pop sound made them one of the best-selling American musical acts of the 1970s.

Created by the team behind The Simon & Garfunkel Story, the show features a live band, storytelling, and performances of some of The Carpenters’ most beloved songs, including “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “(They Long to Be) Close to You,” and “Rainy Days and Mondays.”

According to Wilson Center, the production is designed to honor the warmth, emotion, and musical style that made The Carpenters a household name and continues to resonate with audiences decades later.

Tickets will be available to Wilson Center members beginning June 10 at 10 a.m. General public ticket sales begin June 12 at 10 a.m., both online and in person.

More information is available on the Wilson Center’s website.
