Whiteville Police arrest man following narcotics investigation, seize drugs and illegal alcohol

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — A traffic stop conducted by the Whiteville Police Department’s Criminal and Narcotics Investigation Division (CNID) led to the arrest of a Whiteville man and the seizure of narcotics, marijuana, and approximately 18 gallons of alleged illegal liquor, according to authorities.
Police said detectives stopped a vehicle driven by Wiley Memory on June 17, 2026, for a traffic violation within the city limits of Whiteville.
During the traffic stop, investigators conducted a search of the vehicle and Memory, reportedly discovering approximately 2.4 grams of methamphetamine.
According to the Whiteville Police Department, information and evidence gathered during the investigation led detectives to obtain a search warrant for Memory’s residence.
While executing the search warrant, investigators reported finding additional quantities of methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia, drug paraphernalia, and approximately 18 gallons of non-tax-paid spirituous liquor.
As a result of the investigation, Memory was arrested and charged with:
- Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana
- Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia
- Manufacture of Liquor Without a Permit
- Possession/Sale of Non-Tax-Paid Liquor
- Possession/Sale of Alcoholic Beverages Without a Permit
The Whiteville Police Department said the investigation is ongoing and that additional charges may be filed as investigators continue to review evidence.
In a statement, the department reiterated its commitment to combating illegal narcotics activity and other criminal enterprises that threaten public safety.
