What’s happening across the Cape fear this weekend

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — From a magic carpet ride to anime, pride celebrations, and a Fourth of July cookout, there’s no shortage of things to do across the Cape Fear this weekend.
On Friday, you and the family can take a magic carpet ride to the Minnie Evans Arts Center as Wilmington Performing Arts puts on a performance of Disney’s Aladdin Jr.. The family-friendly musical runs through Sunday and features local young performers taking the stage.
On Saturday, head to Battleship Cycles and Marine for an Independence Day cookout. The free event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and features food, drinks, and family-friendly activities as the Cape Fear kicks off its Fourth of July holiday celebrations.
Pride month wraps up Sunday with the Dock Street Pride Party in downtown Wilmington. The free event features vendors, live entertainment, local nonprofits, and special performances along Dock Street from noon until 8 p.m.
Also on Sunday, anime fans can gather at Hotel Ballast in downtown Wilmington for Wilmington Anime Fest. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes cosplay, vendors, artists, special guests, and more.
