Free FIFA world cup final watch party coming to riverfront park in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Soccer fans will have the chance to cheer on the world’s top teams together as the City of Wilmington hosts a free community watch party for the championship match at Riverfront Park.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, with festivities beginning at 2 p.m. ahead of the 3 p.m. kickoff. The championship match will be shown on a large outdoor screen, giving fans an opportunity to experience one of the sport’s biggest events in a community setting.
In addition to the match, attendees can enjoy an afternoon of family-friendly activities, including games, giveaways, and activities for children. City officials also say a few surprise guests will make appearances during the event.
Food and beverages, including beer and wine, will be available for purchase throughout the afternoon.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own beach chairs or blankets, as seating will not be provided.
The free event is open to the public and offers residents and visitors a chance to enjoy championship soccer while taking in the waterfront atmosphere at Riverfront Park.
City officials say everyone is welcome, regardless of which teams advance to the championship, and encourage the community to come together for an afternoon of soccer and family-friendly entertainment.
