NC MedAssist to bring mobile free pharmacy to New Hanover County on July 24

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — North Carolinians in need of free over-the-counter medications will have an opportunity to access essential health supplies when NC MedAssist brings its Mobile Free Pharmacy to New Hanover County on Friday, July 24.
The free community event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 4555 Fairview Drive, Wilmington, NC 28412. The event is open to the public, and no registration, identification, proof of residency, or income verification is required. Participants must be at least 18 years old to receive medications.
Visitors will be able to select from a variety of over-the-counter health products, including pain relievers, cold and cough medicines, antihistamines, digestive aids, vitamins, and children’s medicines. All items are available while supplies last.
In addition to providing free over-the-counter medications, the event will connect eligible residents with NC MedAssist’s Free Pharmacy Program, which provides prescription medications at no cost to qualifying uninsured North Carolinians. Residents who are uninsured and have household incomes at or below 300% of the federal poverty level may qualify for enrollment.
