Oak Island cancels Monday Farmers’ & Artisans’ Market due to weather

OAK ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — Oak Island has canceled its Farmers’ & Artisans’ Market scheduled for Monday because of expected inclement weather.

Town officials announced the cancellation Monday, citing forecasts calling for lightning in the area.

The market was scheduled to take place Aug. 3. No information was immediately released about whether the event will be rescheduled.

The town encouraged residents to check its calendar for information about upcoming parks and recreation events and activities.
