Carolina Beach, NC (WWAY) — The Carolina Beach Mural Project will hold its second annual MuralFest Reception & Auction in September, bringing artists and community members together while raising money for future public art projects.

The MuralFest reception is scheduled for Sept. 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Kindred in Carolina Beach. The event will give attendees an opportunity to meet artists participating in MuralFest and learn more about public art projects in the community.

Tickets for the reception cost $65 per person and include admission, food and two drink tickets.

An online auction will also be held in conjunction with MuralFest. Bidding is scheduled to open Sept. 8 at noon and close Sept. 17 at 8 p.m.

According to the Carolina Beach Mural Project, participating artists will receive 50% of the winning bid for their work, with the remaining proceeds supporting future projects by the nonprofit organization.

The Carolina Beach Mural Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on highlighting the area’s history and culture through public art. The organization says it has installed 21 murals throughout Carolina Beach.

Information about the reception and auction is available through the Carolina Beach Mural Project’s official website.
