Burgaw Fire Department welcomes new fire marshal

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — The Burgaw Fire Department has selected Brian Kelly to serve as its next fire marshal following what officials described as an extensive hiring process.

Kelly will officially begin his new role with the Town of Burgaw on Aug. 17.

According to the fire department, Kelly brings 28 years of fire service experience, including approximately 20 years specializing in fire prevention and code enforcement.

Officials said Kelly also holds numerous certifications in fire investigations and has served on several state and national fire service boards.

The department said his experience will help strengthen fire prevention efforts while supporting the department’s continued growth and service to the community.

“We are pleased to announce that after an extensive process, Brian Kelly has been selected to serve as the next Fire Marshal for the Burgaw Fire Department,” the department said in a social media announcement.

Fire department leaders said Kelly’s background and expertise will be a valuable asset as the department continues planning for the future while providing fire protection and prevention services to Burgaw residents.
