NHSO investigating after one person found dead in home

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation.

Officials said it happened in the 7800 block of Sanderlin Place at approximately 8 p.m. on Tuesday night.

Deputies were dispatched after a 911 call.

Upon arriving on the scene, a spokesperson said a female was found dead, and a male was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

The male was transported to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where he’s in critical condition.

This is an ongoing investigation.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
