Oak Island drivers warned of Friday street blockage on NE 69th Street

OAK ISLAND. NC (WWAY) — Drivers should expect a temporary street blockage on NE 69th Street in Oak Island Friday, Aug. 21.

The city said a crane will be performing lifting work at 221 NE 69th St. to install home pilings.

The work is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. During that time, the crane will operate from the street and block all through traffic on NE 69th Street.

Drivers are asked to use caution in the area and take alternate routes, including E Yacht Drive and E Oak Drive, to reach destinations immediately north and south of the work zone.

The city said the notice will be updated if the closure times change.
