Bellamy Mansion Museum to host reception for Wilmington artist Ricardo Perez

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — The Bellamy Mansion Museum will host an artist reception Friday for a new exhibition featuring work by local artist Ricardo Perez.

The exhibition, “A Closer Look: America 250 & Historic Foodways,” features portraits and still life paintings exploring the United States’ 250th anniversary and the country’s culinary history.

According to the museum, the portraits focus on the nation’s 250-year history, while the still life works examine stories connected to American food and culinary traditions.

A reception with Perez is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at the Bellamy Mansion Museum, 503 Market St. in Wilmington. Admission to the reception is free.

The exhibition is located in the gallery space on the second floor of the mansion. Visitors can also view the exhibition during the museum’s regular hours, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, at no charge.

Visitors are asked to enter through the Carriage House Visitor Center. On-site parking is available.
