What’s happening across the Cape Fear this weekend
Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — Several events are scheduled across the Cape Fear this weekend, ranging from fundraisers and community activities to a Dolly Parton tribute.
On Friday, a Lip Sync Karaoke Battle is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Lumina Holiday Inn Resort in Wrightsville Beach. Proceeds from the event will benefit America’s Gold Star Families, an organization that supports families of service members who died while serving on active duty.
Also Friday, the Sea Witch Lounge will host a Dolly Parton tribute night featuring Parton-inspired music and a look-alike contest. Attendees are invited to dress in outfits inspired by the late country music singer.
On Saturday, the C-Suite Lounge will host a free 1920s-themed tea party beginning at 2:30 p.m. The event will include tea cocktails and nonalcoholic drinks, snacks and live poetry.
Later Saturday, Polar Ice Wilmington will host Junior Seahawks Night from 7 to 9 p.m. The community skate is open to all ages and skill levels, with proceeds supporting local youth hockey. Admission is $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
The weekend concludes Sunday with the grand opening of Jimmy’s Inland from 1 to 6 p.m. The event is expected to include live music, food, prizes and giveaways.
