Southport Maritime Art Show accepting entries for 2026 exhibition

Southport, NC (WWAY) — The Associated Artists of Southport is accepting entries for the fourth annual Southport Maritime Art Show, set for Oct. 19 through Nov. 14 at Franklin Square Gallery.

Registration is open through Oct. 5 for artists 18 and older.

The show will feature original two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork related to the sea, including marine life, birds, boats, ships, seascapes and waterways.

Organizers say more than $2,000 in prizes will be awarded in the 2D and 3D categories. A separate award will recognize artwork depicting the work of members of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Jeri Greenberg will judge the 2D category. She is a pastel artist who teaches painting at the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington. Sculptor Anna Schroeder will judge the 3D category. She teaches ceramic sculpture at Claymakers in Durham and the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown.

The exhibition will be held at Franklin Square Gallery, 130 E. West St. in downtown Southport.
